Our weekend for families is back for 2020!

We invite families from across the diocese to step away from the challenges of everyday life.

Come and experience the freedom, joy and unity of family life re-centred on Christ. 

“The Christian home is the place where children receive the first proclamation of the faith. For this reason the family home is rightly called ‘the domestic church,’ a community of grace and prayer, a school of human virtues and of Christian charity” - Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1666.

Featuring:

• A fun weekend away in beautiful Taupo, New Zealand

• Keynote speakers Tim & Jenn Goulding from Christchurch will be giving their best tips for healthy, thriving marriages and families. They have 6 kids and are passionate about running marriage enrichment retreats for couples at their local parish.

• The Sacraments - Mass & Reconciliation

• A ‘Pub Night’ for the blokes on Friday night!

• Morning Pancake Breakfast for the Ladies on Saturday morning!

• A Creche for the youngest members of the family (0-4)

• Quality catechesis for kids aged 5-18

• Fun Activities for all ages including a Family Afternoon Fun Festival that has Bouncy Castles, Face Paint, Candy Floss +More!

How much does Family Weekend Cost?

Due to the hardship that many families are facing, the Diocese is offering weekend registrations for just $80 per family, no matter the size of the family. If this cost is still a barrier for you, please get in touch - events@cdh.org.nz

Is there Accommodation available?

The Diocese has booked out some cabins at Taupo Top 10 Holiday park and these are available for just $45 per family. There are limited accommodation spaces available, so get in quick! - Now Sold Out!

What if we aren’t Catholic?

Everyone is welcome, so if you are interested in what the Church has to offer don’t be a stranger! The Catholic Church is passionate about supporting families to be the best they can be! (we know it ain’t easy!)
