Walking Together

Synodality is about how we are called to be Church together, listening to the Holy Spirit, listening to one another, and discerning where God is leading us.

In 2026, Bishop Richard appointed a Diocesan Synodal Group to help continue this journey across our Diocese.

The group is accompanying this journey through prayer, conversation, formation, facilitation and discernment, creating opportunities for people throughout the Diocese to come together, listen deeply and consider what the Holy Spirit may be saying to us at this time.

Where are we now?

Throughout 2026, the Diocesan Synodal Group is meeting with communities across the Diocese through regional gatherings and parish sessions.

These gatherings are an opportunity to pray together, listen to one another and share what we are experiencing in the life of our Church. It is an opportunity to identity facilitators on a local parish level that might be opening to further training and leading conversations in their own parish.

The Roadmap

Our roadmap shows the journey we are taking together. See our Easter 2026 Kete Kōrero, page 16 - 17 to see what is next!
